FA Cougars set Friday Jamboree
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Franklin Academy first-year head football coach Doyle Hassell said he is looking forward to FA's jamboree Friday as the Cougars take on Tensas Academy and Rebul.

"You can only run through air so often," Hassell said. "It will be good to see what they do against competition. We're just hoping we can go out and compete."

Franklin is in its first year of 8-man football, while Tensas went to 8-man football two years ago, playing for the championship last season.

Franklin will face Rebul at 7 p.m. Friday, followed by Rebul against Tensas and Franklin against Tensas in the final contest.

Each game will be two six-minute quarters with a three minute break between quarters.
There will be a 15-minute break between games.

"I'm anxious to see how we've adjusted to the 8-man game," Hassell said. "Our kids are still learning. I'm just looking for sound, fundamental football out there. If our team can provide that, I'll be happy."
