Patriots open drills Monday
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Fall came on Monday for members of the Franklin Parish High School football team. That's when they started practice for the upcoming season.

Coach Barry Sebren called the 2009 Patriots to the athletic field for about two weeks of drills before the opening scrimmage against August 14 against West Monroe High School.

Players are expected to report at 4 p.m. daily, although workouts will be held between 6-8 p.m. when cooler temperatures are expected.

Between 70-80 players are expected to make up the coming team, with the FPHS squad having the smallest student population within its district of class.

The Patriots' opening scrimmage against 5A power WMHS will be the third of four games at the University of Louisiana at Monroe stadium beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 14. The four games are being held in conjunction with an officials clinic.
