Roark-Nelson engagement
Dee Dee and Randy Cooper of Monterey and Steve and Nikki Roark of Crowville announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Whitney Brooke Roark, to Richard Eugene Nelson, son of Stacy and William Nelson Jr. of Vidalia.
Maternal grandparents of the bride-elect are Sarita Nielson and the late Jesse Nielsen Jr. of Delhi. Paternal grandparents are Barbara Roark and the late William Roark Sr. of Delhi.
Whitney is a graduate of Monterey High School and attended the University of Louisiana at Monroe. She is currently employed as a counselor with the Concordia Parish Sheriff's Department.
The prospective groom is the maternal grandson of Patsy and Richard Cain of Ferriday. He is the paternal grandson of Norma Jean and William Nelson Sr. of Vidalia.
Richard is a graduate of Tensas Academy and is currently employed as an electrician with Miss-Lou Electric Service.
The wedding is set for six o'clock in the evening on August 8, 2009, at Eva Church of God in Monterey. Minister Kevin Sims will officiate the ceremony.
Following the ceremony, a reception for the couple will be held in the fellowship hall of the church. A post-wedding party will be held after the reception at the home of bride's parents in Monterey.
Friends and relatives of the couple are invited to attend through this medium. Formal invitations will be sent to out-of-town guests only. |
