This is the week to complete most of your business, other than retail buying or selling, before end of the day Thursday.

Casual Friday, as most Fridays are know in some parts of the United States, will take on a new meaning in Franklin Parish this Friday when many business are scheduled to be closed pending the Fourth of July on Saturday.

Government offices in Winnsboro, Baskin, Gilbert and Wisner will all be closed for the day Friday along with all offices in the Franklin Parish Court House.

Local banks are also scheduled to close for the day as will The Franklin Sun, which will change regular Friday deadlines to Thursday.

While no major Fourth of July celebrations are planned in the parish, residents are encouraged to safely enjoy the holiday.
