Local schools get modern upgrades When students return to school in August, they will be greeted by freshly-renovated buildings at four sites: Baskin, Crowville, Fort Necessity and Gilbert. Renovations are already completed on Franklin Parish High School which received a new technology wing of four classrooms. These renovations, funded by the tax issue passed in 2007, will provide an enhanced environment that will better facilitate student learning.
"Test scores soared this spring," stated Superintendent Lanny Johnson. "We expect further improvement with the improved facilities. "
Renovations at the four junior high schools include complete interior remodeling, including new ceilings, floors, paint, case work, and bulletin boards. Restroom renovations have also been completed at Baskin, Crowville, Fort Necessity, and Gilbert. The photo depicts demolition of the auditorium at Gilbert School. |
