Susan and Mike Durham of Winnsboro and Craig and Melanie Keyes of Newellton announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Betsy Lauren Keyes, to Carey Trenton McCoy, the son of Brenda and Carey B. McCoy of Chase.

The bride-elect is the maternal granddaughter of Mary Black of West Monroe and the late Larry Black. She is the paternal granddaughter of Martha and Delton Keyes of Newellton and Betty and Jr. Rawls of West Monroe.

Betsy is a graduate of Franklin Academy, Delta Community College and the University of Louisiana at Monroe where she earned her degree in early childhood development. She is currently employed as a kindergarten teacher.

The prospective groom is the maternal grandson of Georgia and Melvin Montgomery of Winnsboro. Paternal grandparents are Frances McCoy of Winnsboro and the late W.G. "Billy" McCoy.

Carey is a graduate of Franklin Academy and Louisiana Tech University where he earned his bachelor of science degree in ag business. While on campus, Carey was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. He is currently employed as a soil conservationist for USDA/NRCS in Lake Charles.

The wedding is set for six o'clock in the evening on July 18, 2009, at River of Life. Pastor David Philips and Minister Steve Bryan will officiate the ceremony.
