Posted 6/16/09 Erin Charrier Funeral services for Erin Charrier, 38, of Ruston, were held at Bethany Worship Center, Crowville on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 2 p.m. with Bro. Harry Lilly and Bro. Byron Boykin officiating. Interment followed at Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Erin Charrier was born April 25, 1971 in Beaufort, SC and passed away Monday, June 8, 2009 at Northeast La. Medical Center. She was a resident of Ruston, a hair stylist at Halley and Co. , and a member of the Bethany Worship Center. She brought sunshine to our lives and laughter to our hearts. She loved people, her pets, and her job. Erin never met a stranger and never forgot her friends. She lived life to the fullest. Erin loved music; she was blessed with a beautiful singing voice and the talent to play several instruments. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: AJ and Julia Charrier; maternal grandparents: Ted and Opal Cummings. Survivors include her parents: Ron and Eula Charrier of Crowville; brothers: Jason Charrier and wife Tonya of Keller, Texas, and Walt Fletcher and wife Amanda of Odenton, MD; sister: Holly Charrier of Crowville; two nephews: Caleb Thomas and Cooper Charrier; two nieces: Bethany Charrier and Cambell Charrier; a special friend, Lyndie Morrow, and a host of friends. Norman Hewitt Sr. Funeral services for Norman Hewitt Sr., 91, of Gilbert, were held at River of Life Church on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Norman Hewitt Jr., Rev. Dave Phillips, and Sister Joan Hendry officiating. Interment followed at Oakley Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Mr. Hewitt was born Sept. 27, 1917 in Welch, La., and passed away Monday, June 8, 2009 at his residence in Gilbert. A servant of Jesus who lived a full life which will be remembered well by his family and friends. Mr. Hewitt was a resident of Gilbert for over 60 years and was Gilbert's mail carrier for 28 years. He was also a master carpenter and well-known gardener, using those gifts to help others. Mr. Hewitt served in the Army during World War II and was stationed in the Philippine Islands. Mr. Hewitt touched many lives during his lifetime by showing them the love of Jesus. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Homer Hewitt; mother, Lottie Mae (Hurlbut) Hewitt; first wife, Betty Joe Emfinger Hewitt; two grandsons: Gillis Michael Hewitt Jr. and Matthew Gabriel Hewitt; granddaughter: Annie Williams; six brothers: Ed, Herman, George, Burton, Carl, and Harland. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Hewitt of Gilbert; daughter, Kay Hewitt of Monroe; sons: Mike Hewitt and wife Sharon of Gilbert; Norman Hewitt Jr. and wife Liz of Huntsville, Ala.; Nolan Williams and wife Sue of Gilbert; Ronnie Williams and wife Connie of Junction City, Ark.; daughter: Vicki Hill and husband Doug of Gilbert. He was also survived by 13 grandchildren five great-grandchildren. The pallbearers were Brandon Reid, Heath Hill, Kevin Williams, Glenn Williams, Dennis Williams, George Williams, Lance Reid, and Andrew Collins. Bettie Lucille Mixon Funeral services for Bettie Lucille Mixon, 62, of Winnsboro, were held at10 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2009 in Gill Chapel with Rev. Paul Perry and Rev. Joey Bignar officiating. Burial followed in Crowville Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Mrs. Mixon was born to the union of her parents Dee and Fannie Mae Craven Arnold on Dec. 8, 1946 in Delhi, La., and passed from this life on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at St. Francis Specialty Hospital in Monroe. She was a Home Interior Displayer for 28 years. She is preceded in death by her parents; and one sister: Joyce Spillers. She is survived by her husband of 44 years: Sherman Mixon of Winnsboro; daughter: Kathy Russell and husband Ed of Brandon, Miss.; two grandsons: Scott Russell and Chris Russell; brother: Miller Arnold and wife Sybil of Jonesboro, La.; and a host of nieces and nephews. Lucille Evans Temple Funeral services for Lucille Evans Temple, 90, of Wisner, were held at First Baptist Church, Wisner, on Sunday, June 14, 2009, with Rev. Thomas Peoples officiating. Interment followed at Old Pine Hills Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Mrs. Temple was born Dec. 26, 1918, in Mississippi and passed away Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Manorcare, North Richland Hills, Texas. She was a resident of Arlington, formerly of Wisner, a librarian at the Franklin Parish Library until 2008. She was awarded Senior Employee of the Year for Franklin Parish for 2007. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wisner where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Judson Eugene Temple; father, William Estes Evans; mother, Alpha (Smith) Evans; son, Danny Temple; brother, Denman Evans; three sisters: Willie Knight, Sue Kiper, and Evelyn Stringer; and grandson, Clark Jewett. Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Temple Potts and husband David of Arlington, Texas; five grandchildren: Wade Jewett and wife Courtney of Ft Worth, Texas; D. J. Potts and wife Rachel of Arlington, Texas; Anne Potts of Arlington, Texas; Adriane Carlat and husband Chad of Keller, Texas; Mason Jewett of Arlington, Texas; three great-grandchildren: Whit Jewett, Norah Catherine Jewett, and Knox Jewett of Ft Worth, Texas; and a host of friends and church family.
