Gilbert Woods of Baton Rouge and Teresa Phillips Leavens of Bradenton, Fla., announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Brittany Nicole Woods to Robert Elijah Spinks of Livingston, formerly of Baskin. He is the son of Kelly Spinks of Montpellier and Penny Holley Lee of Baskin.

Maternal grandparents of the bride-elect are Ruth and Floyd Phillips of Bradenton. She is the paternal granddaughter of Alice and Charles Woods of Livingston.

Brittany attends SLU pursuing a degree in art with a concentration in graphic design. She is currently an intern for La Carreta Mexican Restaurants and self-employed as a Mary Kay consultant.

Maternal grandparents of the prospective groom are Myrtis and Jimmie Cureington of Winnsboro. He is the paternal grandson of the late Janell and Robert Spinks of Greensburg.

Robert is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe where he received his degree in Toxicology with a minor in chemistry. He is currently employed by Amerchol, a subsidiary of Dow/Wolff Cellulosics.

The wedding is set for three o'clock in the afternoon on May 30, 2009 at Satsuma Baptist Church in Livingston. Minister Rusty Durand will officiate the ceremony.

Friends and relatives of the couple are invited to attend.
