McCarthy-Sidebe engagement
Bettye and Alfred Hennix of Winnsboro announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Shameka Laveit McCarthy to Yacouba Sidibe, son of Mariam and Souley Sidibe of Abidjan, Ivory Coast. Shameka is the daughter of the late John Hampton of Metairie.
Maternal grandparents of the bride-elect are Mary Liza Allen and the late Fred Reese. She is the paternal granddaughter of Mary Webb and the late Willie Hampton of Winnsboro.
Shameka is a 1999 graduate of Winnsboro High School and a 2007 graduate of Devry University. She is currently pursuing a double master's degree in business administration and project management at Keller Graduate School of Management.
Yacouba is a 2006 graduate of the Institute of Technology Science and is currently pursuing a degree at LaGandia College.
The wedding is set for seven o'clock in the evening on May 30, 2009 at the Rayville Civic Center.
