Story Archives: Auditions set for Princess production

Auditions set for Princess production
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The Princess Theatre will be holding auditions for the summer production of Rogers and Hammerstein's "Oklahoma" beginning May 4 and running through May 13.

The auditions will be held everyday from 3 to 7 p.m. The production, set to open July 30 and run through August 3, will be in rehearsals the last two weeks of May until opening night. Executive director Gene Thompson said main roles are available for male and female ages 15 and up.

"There are also a lot of parts for ages 14 and under as extras," said Thompson who, along with Leigh Jonson, is also directing the musical. "It's a pretty big show and we could be adding parts throughout the summer."

Thompson also said that the popular summer musicals take a lot of commitment as the rehearsals run throughout the summer, but encourages anyone interested in making the commitment to come on and tryout. For more information contact the Princess at 318-435-6299 or princesstheatre@bellsouth.net.
