The Sicily Island Medical Center and cooperating area agencies will be hosting a 'Diabetes Day in the Country' health fair on Saturday, April 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Free health screenings will be offered by medical staff including hearing, vision, cholesterol, blood pressure, bone density, oxygen saturation, and diabetic wound care, just to name a few.

The mobile LifeShare Blood Center will also be on hand to accept blood drive donations.
The diabetes and health educational exhibit is intended to be a family affair offering fun for the entire family. Games for kids, a cake walk, live entertainment and door prizes will be included in this fun-filled health fair.

Healthcare providers recommend fasting for at least 10 hours prior to having screenings taken for the most accurate results.
