Youth from the Family, Career and Community leaders of America (FCCLA), recently participated in a three day state leadership conference in Lafayette.
Attendees participated in three days of training and sessions that challenged, informed and motivated members and their advisers to become leaders through FCCLA. Members of the Franklin Parish High School Chapter were in attendance, along with more than 750 other members, chapter advisers and guests.
The Franklin Parish High School Chapter of FCCLA was honored with an award for the largest membership increase in the state. FCCLA member Anitria Lawrence won a gold medal in the Sew Trendy competition during the conference.

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is unique among youth organizations because its programs are planned and run by members. It is the only career and technical in-school student organization with the family as its central focus. Participation in national programs and chapter activities helps members become strong leaders in their families, careers and communities. |
