16-year-old booked for shooting eight A 16-year-old has been booked with eight counts of attempted first degree murder in the shooting of eight people outside Peck Station in northern Catahoula Parish Saturday.
The incident occurred around 1 a.m. Feb. 28, according to Sheriff James Kelly. The eight victims were transported to hospitals in Winnsboro, Rayville and Monroe. Some were treated and released and two were listed in critical condition, said Kelly.
When deputies arrived, Kelly said only the bar owner and a handful of other people were there.
"All involved in the shooting had left the scene," said Kelly.
Kent Johnson and Tyrone Johnson of Franklin Parish own the business, which Kelly described as a nightclub.
In addition to the 16-year-old, Kelly said 19-year-old Isaac Hollis III of Gilbert was charged with possession of a firearm at an alcoholic beverage establishment, illegal discharge of a weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
"We believe this shooting was the result of an ongoing fued," said Kelly. He said more arrests are expected. |
