Franklin Academy jumps into tournament baseball early this season, hosting an eight team matchup beginning today and running through the weekend.

Three games will be played today and Thursday.

Games are set for 3, 5 and 7 p.m. each of the first two days and at 5 and 7 p.m. on Friday and 4 and 6 p.m. on the final day.

There will be a one and one-half hour time limit per game as well as some elimination by inning rules.

PVA meets Glenbrook in the tournament opening game followed by Claborne against Huntington and finally Franklin Academy against Riverdale.

The two losers and then the two winners of the opening games made up the first two matches of the second round with Tensas going against Riverfield in the final game of the day.

Semifinals in both losers and winners brackets will be held Friday with title games on Saturday rounding out the event.

The next outing for Franklin Academy following the tournament will be March 3 against River Oaks.
