Chamber event another sellout
A waiting list has been established for the Winnsboro-Franklin Chamber of Commerce's 60th Annual Installation Banquet Thursday night.
Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal is the scheduled featured speaker for the second consecutive year.
Those interested in replacing last minute cancellations can get on the waiting list by calling 4435-4488, according to Lindy Price, the incoming president of the chamber.
The event will be held at the United Pentecostal Church Family Life Center at 2510 Loop Road in Winnsboro. There will be a meet and greet session from 5:30-6:30 p.m., with dinner served at 6:30 p.m.
The banquet will include the introduction and recognition of the 2009 Winnsboro-Franklin Chamber officers and new Chamber board members.
"We are so excited to have Governor Jindal back in our community. He was here last year for our annual banquet having been in office only six weeks," said Price, project coordinator. "He made the promise that he wouldn't forget Northeast Louisiana and he's kept that promise by being a hands-on governor and available to the folks who put him in office. We just couldn't be more pleased to have him here again."
Tickets sales were limited at $35 each for members and $40 for non-members at the Chamber office. A limited number of corporate sponsorships were also available.
The waiting list for cancellations and names will be taken on a first-come first-serve basis.
Sponsors for this year's event will be Citizens Progressive Bank, Entergy, Franklin Parish Catfish Festival, Franklin Medical Center, Franklin Parish Tourism, Franklin State Bank, Interstate Buick-Pontiac-GMC, Louisiana Land Bank, Progressive Bank, Waller-Singer Chevrolet, White Ford-Lincoln-Mercury, Winnsboro Main Street, Winnsboro State Bank, Family Life Home Health and Delta Glass and Trim.
"Our business sponsors have been wonderful to step up to the plate without complaint or question," Price continued. "Almost every response has been 'sure, we would love to' when asked about helping to sponsor the event. We are so lucky to have such a great relationship with our business community who understand that their Chamber is working as hard as possible on their behalf and who also understand that without their continued support, events such as this would not be possible." |
