FA on the road again...

Franklin Academy will be hitting the road a bit more for athletic events as the Cougars have been moved from Class 6A to Class 7A.

"The MPSA did not accept any appeals," said Franklin Academy headmaster Phil Jackson. "What the district committee set up is the exact same as the final plan."

Franklin Academy will be District 7A with Central School of Grand Cane, Claiborne Academy, Riverdale Academy in Coushatta, Riverfield Academy in Rayville and Union Christian Academy.

"We're pretty much satisfied with who's in our district, although we don't like the travel," Jackson said. "But we've learned to accept it and there's really nothing we can do about it."
Franklin loses Huntington, Tallulah and Tensas, which remained in District 6A, along with Trinity Episcopal of Natchez, which moved down from Class 2A.

"We're still going to try and play those schools, it just won't be in district," Jackson said.
