Posted 1/20/09 Lillian Montgomery Baker Funeral services for Mrs. Lillian Montgomery Baker, age 85, of Winnsboro, Louisiana were held on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009 at First Presbyterian Church of Winnsboro with Rev. John Albright offficiating. Interment followed in New Winnsboro Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. Baker died after a lengthy illness on Jan. 12, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn C. Baker and a daughter, Pat Baker. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Montgomery and two sisters, Anne Montgomery Levert and Mary Montgomery, also preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, Bo Baker and a granddaughter, Megan Wilkerson. Mrs. Baker was a graduate of Louisiana Tech and a mathematics teacher in the public schools of Franklin Parish having taught at Gilbert and Winnsboro High School. She was a frequent attendee at the various reunions held by her former students throughout the years. Her students remember her as a beautiful teacher and a stern disciplinarian. She was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church, Winnsboro, where she often supplied flowers in the chancel of the sanctuary. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Oakley Chapter. Pallbearers were elders from First Presbyterian Church: Billy R. Smith, Franklin Clay, Aaron Scott, John Guice, Brad Guice, and Lemar Bullard. Andy Zwicki served as an honorary pallbearer. Edna Jean Carroll Funeral services for Edna Jean Carroll, 77, of Winnsboro, were held at Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009 with Rev. Kenneth Eubanks officiating. Interment followed at Fort Necessity Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Mrs. Carroll was born June 26, 1931 in Winnsboro, and passed away Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. She was a resident of Winnsboro, a homemaker, and a member of the Fort Necessity Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carey L. Carroll; father, Clinton Woodrow Eubanks; mother, Bertha Enia (Goodwin) Eubanks; daughter, Barbara Jean Beach; granddaughter, Dena Marie Beach; five brothers: Lloyd Eubanks, Elton Eubanks, Deshae Eubanks, Elvin Eubanks, twin brother, Edgar Curley Eubanks. Survivors include three sons: Melvin F. Carroll and Stevie L. Carroll, both of Monroe; Dennis L. Carroll, Columbia; three daughters: Linda Diane Twidwell of Frankfort, Kansas; Anne Griffin of Columbia; Brenda Beckley of West Monroe; two sisters: Louise Parrott and Florene Hitt of Winnsboro; eight brothers: Kenneth of Monroe; Gary and Jimmy, both of Texas; Charles Ray of Bossier City; Jody of Arkansas; Henry, Tim, and Clinton of Winnsboro; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Eloise W. Thomas Funeral services for Eloise W. Thomas, 61, of Dallas, Texas were held Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009 at Richardson Funeral Home Chapel in Winnsboro. Burial followed at Rest Haven Cemetery, under the direction of Richardson Funeral Home. Mrs. Thomas, formerly of Winnsboro, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. Survivors include her children Edward G. Thomas, Dallas; Hazel F. Thomas and LaQuiesh R. Thomas, both of Dallas, Texas; brothers: Robert Thomas Jr., Arlington, Texas; Willie Thomas, Merle Thomas and Roger Thomas, all of Dallas; Jimmy Thomas and Isiah Thomas, both of Winnsboro; sisters: Dottie Caldwell, Dallas; Margarite Jinady, Austin, Texas; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Wilton Ernest Hoggatt Funeral services for Wilton Ernest Hoggatt, 90, of Wisner will be held at Holly Grove Baptist Church today (Wednesday), Jan. 21, 2009 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home, Winnsboro. Mr. Hoggatt was born Nov. 7, 1918 and passed away Friday, Jan. 16, 2009 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. He was a resident of Wisner, a teacher, coach, principal and a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Hoggatt was preceded in death by his father, Wilton Roderick Hoggatt; mother, Lishie Bell (Humble) Hoggatt; wife, Mamae (Allbritton) Hoggatt; sister, Orrean Mason; brother, Boyce Hoggatt. Larry Joe Jackson Funeral services for Larry Joe Jackson, 54, of Monroe will be held Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Greater Union Baptist Church in Winnsboro. Rosa P. Morrow Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa P. Morrow, 90 , of Winnsboro, LA, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Winnsboro, LA with Rev. Daniel Corkery officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Mrs. Morrow passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at St. Francis Medical Center. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Winnsboro, LA, a U. S. Army veteran who served as a Lieutenant on a hospital ship during WWII, and a past Commander for the VFW Post 3155 in Winnsboro, LA. Mrs. Morrow was a Registered Nurse for Dr. R. M. Simonton and Dr. Fred Marx in Monroe, LA. Later, she taught LPN classes at Louisiana Vo-Tech in Winnsboro for many years. Mrs. Morrow was preceded in death by her husband, Russell A. Morrow and brother, Francis J. Palumbo. Survivors include son, William Russell Morrow and fiancÈ, Carmen Glennon; grandchildren, Laura, Caroline, Matthew, and Mark; sister, Deloris DiMarco and husband Ross; nephews, Dr. Ross DiMarco and wife Kandy, Rick DiMarco and wife Jane, Francis J. Palumbo, Jr. and wife Joan, David Palumbo and wife Tania, and Joby Cantalamessa and wife Pam; nieces, Kathy Gulino and husband Joe, Sherry Maher and husband Regis, Rush Miller and husband Don, and Mia Faris and husband David.
