Important dates for 21stCCLC Afterschool Program The third session of the 21stCCLC Afterschool Program will begin Monday, January 12, 2009 and run through Thursday, February 19.
A fourth session will follow. The program operates for one and a half hours Monday through Thursday. The five school sites offering the 21stCCLC are Baskin, Crowville, Fort Necessity, Gilbert, and Winnsboro Elementary.
The program serves students in grades 2 through 8. The program offers 2 days of academic activities and 2 days of cultural activities. The goals of the program are to develop social skills and improve academic learning. The program offers working parents a safe, nurturing, afterschool environment for their child. Time in the afterschool program in the new year will be wisely spent enhancing the classroom instruction, tutoring students, and providing test taking skills. This extra assistance can greatly improve a student's opportunity to perform well on state standardized tests.
Parents of students in grades 2 through 8 are strongly encouraged to enroll their children in the afterschool program. Parents are welcome to be an active part of the program by volunteering to assist at their child's site. For more specific details contact the site coordinator at each site: Baskin, Ms. Angie Holder; Crowville, Ms. Cynthia Swayzer; Fort Necessity, Ms Esther Watson; Gilbert, Ms. Jennifer Henslee, and Winnsboro Elementary, Ms. Alice Prescott. |
