Franklin Academy dropped a pair of games in its District 6A opener at Huntington on December 15.

Franklin's boys fell to Huntington 52-30, while the Lady Hounds lost 44-29.

In the boys contest, the Hounds kept Franklin from scoring for seven minutes in taking a 9-2 lead.

Huntington led 19-12 at halftime before extending that lead to 35-20 after three quarters.

"We jumped out and then both of us kind of just sat there for three or four minutes before we finally broke through," Boydstun said.

Jeremy Randall led all scorers with 20 points for the Hounds, while teammate Phillip Washington added eight.

"They were running the same thing we were running last year, so it hasn't been that big of an adjustment," Boydstun said.

Seth Henderson led Franklin Academy with 10 points.

The Lady Hounds led 8-4 after one period and 23-9 at halftime. Both teams scored 10 points in the third period.

"We are going to keep running what they are running because that's what they are used to," Boydstun said. "The girls shot the ball well and plyed good defense."

Abi Brown led the Lady Hounds with 17 points while Julia Corbett added eight.

Katy Little led Franklin with 15 points.

Huntington travels to Wilkinson County Christian Academy Friday for another key district contest.
