Franklin boys get sweep
Franklin Academy's boys made a clean sweep of Tallulah and Tensas Academy last week in the Franklin Doubleheader in Winnsboro.
"I was real pleased and the boys showed a lot of heart," said Franklin Academy coach Tommy Kimbrough. "This should help give the kids more confidence early in the season. This team has a lot of talent and we need to continue developing it."
Franklin's boys defeated Tensas 51-25 as Shelby Ziegler scored 25 points and Dusty Barefield added 10.
The Cougars defeated Tallulah 33-2 as Barefield netted 14.
Franklin's girls fell to Tallulah and Tensas Academy.
The Lady Cougars fell to the Lady Chiefs by a 68-15 margin.
Mallory Welch led Franklin with six points.
Tallulah defeated Tensas 34-20 with Welch leading the way with eight points. |
