Lights on Afterschool Open House set for Nov. 13 The Franklin Parish 21stCCLC Afterschool Program is holding an Open House for parents, caretakers, family members of program participants, and the community this coming Thursday afternoon, Nov. 13.
Family members and the community are encouraged to come by the schools to observe and to participate in the activities provided by the afterschool program. The Lights on Afterschool event is held annually to call attention to the importance of afterschool programs for America's children, families, and communities.
The Franklin Parish 21stCCLC program provides homework help, academic enrichment programs, and cultural activities for students in grades 2 through 8. The program served over 900 students this past year with 407 students being classified as regular attendees (attending 30 or more days in a year). The 21st Century program is a valuable service, cost free to families in our parish. We invite all interested persons to attend
The Lights on Afterschool Open House on Thursday afternoon.
The sites and times are below. Baskin: 3:00 --- 4:30 p.m. Crowville: 3:30 --- 5:00 p.m. Fort Necessity: 3:20 --- 4:50 p.m. Winnsboro Elementary: 3:15 --- 4:45 p.m.
The Gilbert site is having an Open House for parents to meet with their children's teachers and pickup report cards. Parents will also have an orientation session on the new JPAMS Parent Communication Center on the Franklin Parish Schools website. The afterschool program will not be held at Gilbert for that reason. All parents are encouraged to attend the school's Open House. |
