Mark and Paula Batey of Extension announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Rachel Ann Batey to Scott Wayne Wooten of Winnsboro, son of Henrietta Wooten and the late Foy Wooten.

The bride-elect is the maternal granddaughter of Dolores Garbarino and the late Preston Garbarino of Elton, La. She is the paternal granddaughter of Mary Ferrington of Wisner and Carl Batey of Wisner.

She is a graduate of Franklin Academy and Louisiana Tech University, where she earned her degree in accounting. She has plans to continue her education at Tech in pursuit of her CPA license.

The prospective groom is the maternal grandson of the late Emily and Davie Whitten of Start. Paternal grandparents are Ola Mae Rogers of D'Iberbille, Miss. and the late Joe Lee Wooten of Ocean Springs, Miss.

He is a graduate of Franklin Academy and Louisiana Tech University, where he earned his degree in accounting. He is currently employed as staff accountant at the firm of Jamieson, Wise and Martin, APAC.

The wedding is set for Saturday, November 22, 2008, at two o'clock in the afternoon at Holly Grove Baptist Church. Pastor Mickey Gallup will officiate the ceremony.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend through this medium.
