Alexander easily wins re-election Congressman Rodney Alexander was easily re-elected Saturday in light voter turnout, according to complete but unofficial returns.
Alexander captured almost 90 percent of the vote in the Republican Party primary election in the 5th congressional district race.
Alexander garnered 27,715 votes, or 89.66 percent. Alexander's challenger, Andrew Clack of Richland Parish, took 3,195 votes, or 10.34 percent.
With his Republican Party primary victory, Alexander was re-elected to a fourth term as congressman for the 5th District of Louisiana in the U.S. House of Representatives. That was the case because no Democrat qualified to run for Democratic Party nomination in the 5th District race. |
