Gilley-Gill wedding
On the evening of June 20, 2008, Jennifer Lynn Gilley and Colby Richard Gill exchanged marriage vows in front of friends and family at Mangham Baptist Church. The bride is the daughter of Gary and Judy Gilley of Archibald. The groom is the son of Garry and Connie Gill of Crowville and Barron Gill of Crowville. The Rev. Rick Aultman officiated the double ring ceremony.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of white satin featuring a halter neckline and fitted bodice adorned with white embroidery and crystal beading. The basque waistline with a corset tie-back closure extended into a cathedral length train embellished with crystal beads. The bridal headdress was a beaded tiara and fingertip veil. She carried a bouquet of pink and white calla lilies.
Krystal Fleming of Archibald, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. She wore sleeveless knee-length dress of azalea colored chiffon accented with beaded satin straps.
Cali Larson served the bride as her maid of honor. She wore a sleeveless knee-length dress of blue velvet chiffon accented with beaded satin straps.
Serving the bride as bridesmaids were, Brandy Williams, cousin of the bride, Reagan Pomier, Mary Peterson, Laci Snuggs, Ariel Gill, sister of the groom, Lauren Hackney, Katie Burgess, and Rachel Wisenor. Half of the bridesmaids wore dresses like that of the matron of honor, and half wore dresses like that of the maid of honor. Each bridesmaid carried a single white calla lily.
Taylor Williams of Archibald and Peyton Gill of Crowville served as flower girls.
Jake Casiday of Crowville and Barron Gill of Crowville served the groom as his best men. Groomsmen were Brandon Fleming, Joey Williams and Daniel Smart of Archibald; Todd Casiday, Justin Robinson, Chris Wygal and Jeremy Jackson of Crowville and Scott Wallace of Tallulah.
Ushers for the ceremony were, Alex Smart of Archibald, cousin of the bride and Jarred Casiday of Crowville. Ring bearers were Chase Smart of Archibald, Larkin Gill of Mangham and Hoyt Carroll of Crowville.
Special music for the ceremony was provided by pianist Kathie Smart, aunt of the bride and soloist Wayne Smart, uncle of the bride; Allison Powell, Brent Smart, Glenn Smart and Kim Weed. Selections included "The Lord's Prayer," "When You Say Nothing at All," "Cinderella," and "To Me."
The coupled exchanged their marriage vows under an arch created by columns topped with tall vases of floral arrangements. Greenery and fresh flowers decorated the sanctuary.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held for the couple in the Family Life Center of Mangham Baptist Church. The bride's cake was a four-tiered creation and served from a gazebo decorated with pink azaleas and greenery. Rhonda Lord, cousin of the groom, attended the groom's table. Assisting with the reception were, Rachel Smart, Margie Scott, Rhonda Lord, Pam McMurray and Thelma Harris.
For travel, the bride left the reception in her bridal gown. After a wedding trip to Gulf Shores, Ala., the couple will be at home in Archibald.
The bride is a graduate of Mangham High School and is currently attending the University of Louisiana at Monroe and Delta Community College. The groom is a graduate of Franklin Parish High School and Delta Community College and is currently pursuing a career in nursing. |
