Ronnie Ellerbe
Funeral services for Ronnie Ellerbe, 48, of Winnsboro, were held at Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, Aug.24, 2008 at with Rev. Buford Brady officiating. Interment followed at South Central Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
Mr. Ellerbe was born April 6, 1960 in Winnsboro, and passed away Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center, West Monroe. He was a Dallas Control Operator for Diamond Offshore Drilling Co., and a member of the Lone Cedar Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Ellerbe.
Survivors include his wife, Keitha (Wright) Ellerbe of Winnsboro; parents, Donald Ray and Pansy Ellerbe of Winnsboro; daughter, Penny Joiner and husband Jim of Wisner; son, Ronald "Dusty" Ellerbe of Winnsboro; two brothers: Bubba Dale Ellerbe and wife Michelle, and Tommy Ellerbe and wife Gloria, all of Wisner; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was also survived by 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Tucker Reeves, Bo Guillot, Jason Wright, Aaron Ellerbe, James Ellerbe, and Danny Matthews.
Honorary pallbearers were Robert Heard and Herbert Gene Robinson.

James 'Ed' Tarver
Services for James "Ed" Tarver, age 86, of Mangham, were held Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008 at Lone Cherry Baptist Church, Mangham, with the Rev. Doyle Adams officiating.
Internment followed in the Lone Cherry Cemetery under the direction of Mulhern Funeral Home Rayville, LA.
Mr. Tarver passed away Thursday, August 21, 2008 at his home in Mangham. He was a retired farmer, avid hunter and fisherman, and a vetern of World War II, who served in the Air Force.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lessie Mae Tarver, a son, James E. "Jr." Tarver, 5 brothers: Claude E. Tarver, Charles Tarver, Winfred Tarver, Travis Tarver, Virgil "Sonny Boy" Tarver, parents, Ed C. and Annie Tarver, and in-laws, Henry and Alice Chricerol.
He is survived by his spouse, Selma Tarver of Winnsboro; four sisters, Dorothy Cox and husband Howard of Monroe; Evelyn Lee of West Monroe; Gladys Parker of BatonRouge; Margie Southern of Mangham; step-children: J.C. and Alice Coyle; Al and Janet Housewright; numerous neices and nephews.
Pallbears were Levi Lord, Billy J. Mercer Sr., Tony Jackson, Larry Jackson, Jessie Harris, and R. L. Bell III.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Ron Morgan, Dave Estis, and Frank Smith, Sr.

Jeffery Cassels
Funeral services for Jeffrey Cassels, 46, of Winnsboro, were held at Fort Necessity Baptist Church on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008 with Rev. Don Blackmon and Rev. Benton Moore officiating. Interment followed at Fort Necessity Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
Mr. Cassels was born March 13, 1962 in Winnsboro, and passed away Monday, Aug. 18, 2008 at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro. He was a resident of Winnsboro, and a mechanic on farm equipment.
He was preceded in death by his father, Plase Mick Cassels.
Survivors include his mother, Irene (Bailey) Cassels; four brothers: Plase Cassels and wife Betty, Ronnie Cassels and wife Becky, Randy Cassels, Bryan Cassels, all of Winnsboro; three sisters, Marsha Cassels of Winnsboro, Sherry Osborn and husband Jesse of Pearl, Miss., and Debra Franklin and special friend Randy Richmond of Winnsboro; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers were Plase Cassels III, Allen Osborn, Justin Franklin, Charles "Chuck" Franklin, Randy Cassels Jr., Delane Weeks, and Randy Cassels Sr.

Peggy Jewel Taylor
Funeral services for Peggy Jewel Taylor, 69, of Baskin were held at Baskin Baptist Church on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008 with the Rev. Marion Spence officiating.
Interment followed at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home, Winnsboro.
Mrs. Taylor was born March 19, 1939 in Baskin, and passed away Friday, Aug. 22, 2008 at Franklin Medical Center. She was a retired cafeteria technician with the Franklin Parish School Board and a member of Baskin Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Taylor Sr.; father, Thomas J. Lee; mother, Grace Rosalea (Summers) Lee; three brothers, Thomas Lee Jr., Samuel Eugene Lee and Huey Lee; one sister, Margarite Moreland; aunt Pauline Summers.
Survivors include three sons: Hershel Taylor Jr., Liddieville; Michael Taylor, Hallsville, Texas; Tony Taylor, Farmerville; one daughter, Judy Shipley, Baskin; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were George Little, Doyle Little, Bill Taylor, Jeff Taylor, Sammy Lee Jr., and John Searcy.

Gregory W. Conner
Funeral services for Gregory W. Conner, 42, of Ferriday were held Saturday at Harvest Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Shep Bethly Jr. officiating.
Burial followed at the Ferriday cemetery under the direction of Richardson and Sims Funeral Home, Ferriday.
Mr. Conner died Aug. 17, 2008 at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday.
Survivors include one daughter, Shandrea Lewis, Ferriday; father, Nathaniel Conner, Ferriday; mother, Mary Conner, Ferriday; six sisters: Alandra Conner, Monroe; Gwendolyn Ray, Para Thompson and Trenice Conner, all of Ferriday; Kiesha Conner, Baton Rouge; Alma Brass, LaPlace; three brothers: Kenneth Prosser and Doyle Brown, both of Ferriday; Tabision McGray, Houston, Texas.
Pallbearers were Isaac Clark Sr., Robert Clark, Dr. Ben Clark Jr., Willis Hollis, William Clark and Freddie Earl Bynum II.

Martha Jefferson
Funeral services for Martha Jefferson, 59, of Sicily Island will be held at Zion Baptist Church in Foules at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008 with the Rev. T.A. Baker officiating.
Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery in Sicily Island under the direction of Richardson and Sims Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jefferson died Thursday at her residence.
Survivors include her husband, James Jefferson, Sicily Island; one son, Josh Carlisle, Sicily Island; three daughters, Dorothy Jefferson, Janice Jefferson, and Darris Wilson, all of Monroe; one sister, Dorothy Richardson, Sicily Island; two brothers, Walter Vaughn, Los Angeles, Calif.; Gus Carlisle, Sicily Island; and 10 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Roosevelt Richardson Sr., Robert Scott, Tommy Richardson, Roosevelt Scott, Cedric Wilson, LaDell Tolliver, Joseph Bingham Jr., and Raymond Brown.
