Karate team brings home medals
The Bob Allen Dojo tournament team competed in the 2008 USA National Karate Federation championships July 18-20 in Houston. Seventeen members of the Winnsboro club and three from the West Monroe club attended and competed in kumite (fighting), kata (forms) and kobudo (weapons).
Medal winners were, gold – Jagger Smith and Shelby Smith; silver – Keelee Lofton, Grant Johns, Toby McVay, and Heather Powell; and bronze – Gregory Allen, Heather Powell, Jeremy Rowan and Jagger Smith.
Also competing were Hunter Dear, Lane Duff, Ryan Hearn, Myles Johns, Allen Newman, Jaren Parks, Tate Parks, Jace Rowan, Lillie Sikes, Zachary Stoltz, Sarah Tuberville and John Thomas Williams.
