Young riders compete in kids rodeo
Youngsters from Frank-lin and surrounding parishes competed in several categories at the Deep South PRCA Kid's Rodeo Friday and Saturday nights.
On Saturday the timed events were barrel racing, pole bending and speed. The Friday winners include:
Barrels – ages 0-7 – first, Sydney Westmore-land; ages 8-12 – first, Tanner Freeman, second, Hannah Harrell, third, Ike McBroom; Ages 13-18, first, Ashli Price, second Somer Stracener, third, Mallory Mercer.
Pole bending – ages 0-7, first, Sydney Westmore-land; ages 8-12 – first, Hannah Harrell, second, K-Raye O'Neal, third, Ike McBroom; ages 13-18, first, Sarah Ford, second, Caitlin Emfinger, third, Dana Renicker.
Speed – ages 0-7, first, Sydney Westmoreland, second, Madison Bonner, third, Quinten Freeman; ages 8-12, Lauchlyn Emfinger, second, K-Raye O'Neal, third, Sydney Robbins; ages 13-18, first, Kole Trichell, second, Sarah Ford, third, Alisha Morgan.
On Saturday night's rough stock events, judged by Buckshot Sims, the winners include the following.
Muttin' bustin' – first, Keithen Ingram, second, Gary Robinson, third, Adam Cowart, fourth, Dillon Ezell, fifth, Conner Smith, sixth, Jagger Smith, seventh, Cody McCarthy, eighth, Morgan Cruse, ninth, Joshua Bodan, tenth, Dillon Eckart, eleventh, Dani Price, and twelfth, Eli Smith.
