Westside cheerleaders to perform

The Westside 2008 cheerleading squad will showcase their talents at "Family Day in the Park" in Monroe on Saturday, July 26 at the community center on Jackson Street.

The cheerleaders, sponsored by the Franklin Parish Black Achievers Association, will be special performers at the third annual "Back-to-School" rally on Saturday, August 9 at Westside Park.

The girls have been busy performing at softball and baseball games in Winnsboro and Wisner this summer. They also performed at the third annual Juneteenth Celebration in Winnsboro.

The squad members are Janazia Jackson, Katlyn Dunn, Makalyn Martin, Tyana Johnson, Mallory Doyle, Taylor Majors, Baneshia Byas, Fantasia Watkins, Kayla Handy, Lindsey Hoard, Farrin Johnson, Jayla Jackson, Ahmari Watkins and Nakalyn Mercer. The directors are by Trice Bell, Derrika Allen and Jacqueline Johnson.
