Early voting opens Saturday

Early voting for the July 19 election will open Saturday, July 5.

Voters will go to the polls on July 19 to consider a parish-wide, 4.45-mil property tax renewal proposed by the Franklin Parish School Board.

Franklin Parish voter registrar Geneva Cupp said voters who might not be able to make it out to the polls are encouraged to cast their ballots early.

"Be sure to bring proper picture ID to cast early ballots," Cupp said.

Early voting for the July 19 election will begin July 5 and run through July 12. Early voters can cast their ballots between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. during that time.

Cupp said despite being closed Friday for the 4th of July, her office will be open for voting Saturday.
