Hammonds-Hilbun unite in Jamaica
Sherise M. Hammonds of Fort Worth, Texas, and Gerald Wayne Hilbun of Houston were united in marriage during a sunset ceremony on April 1, 2008. The wedding was held at Sandals Grande Resort in Ocho Rios, Jamaica with Rev. Sheldon L. Anderson officiating the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Janie and Leonard R. Hammonds of Fort Worth. The groom is the son of Patsy and Buddy Hilbun of Wisner.
The couple exchanged vows beneath a Romanesque Gazebo overlooking the Caribbean Sea at 5:30 in the evening. For the ceremony, the bride chose a gown designed by Pronovias Couture of Spain and gold stilettos adorned with Swarovski crystals designed by Stuart Weisman. She wore orchids of ivory in her hair. Keeping with tradition, the bride wore her grandmother's engagement ring for something borrowed, her grandmother Evelyn Cotton's white and gold diamond watch for something old; French ivory lace and silk corset for something new, and a blue monogrammed silk garter and handkerchief for something blue. Altar decorations designed by Preston Bailey.
Music selections for the ceremony included "True Love Ways" by Buddy Holly, "Unchained Melody" by the Righteous Brothers, and "I Cross My Heart" by George Strait.
A reception for the couple was held on May 31, 2008, at 6:30 p.m. at the Shreveport Country Club in Shreveport. A DVD of the wedding ceremony in Jamaica was reviewed prior to the couple being introduced to their guests as Mr. and Mr. Gerald Wayne Hilbun. The reception hall was decorated with ivory orchids, celadon and burgundy from the Vera Wang collection. Thurman's Bakery in Monroe designed the cakes.
For travel, the bride wore an ivory and gold brocade cocktail dress designed by Vera Wang. After honeymooning in Ocho Rios, the couple plans to reside in Waller, Texas.
The bride is a graduate of Sherman High School in Sherman, Texas. The groom is a graduate of Texas A&M with a bachelor's degree in soil and water conservation. |
