On April 27, 2008, the Rev. Doyle L. Adams celebrated his 50th year in the ministry. Rev. Adams preached his first sermon on April 27, 1958 at Mangham First Baptist Church. His message was from Proverbs 3:5-6. It states: "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths."

The celebration was held at Temple Baptist Church in Winnsboro. Rev. Adams was presented a plaque from the Louisiana Baptist Convention in recognition of his service. In addition, he was awarded the Presidential Proclamation for his fifty years in the ministry.
