Plans are underway for the second annual Freedom Fest to be held on July 4 at Davis Park. The festivities will begin with the Patriotic Children's Parade at 10 a.m. All children who wish to ride bikes, pull wagons or ride batter operated vehicles are encouraged to decorate their rides and meet at the girls softball field to Lowentrit Pavilion where the festivities will begin at 10:15 with opening ceremonies and veteran recognition. There will be music and games. The annual pie baking contest will also be a feature of the morning. Anyone interested in participating must bring the pie to the park by 10 a.m. for judging. Hotdogs and drinks will be served and the festivities will come to a close at 12 noon. Anyone seeking more information can contact the Chamber of Commerce at 435-4488 or Emily Arnold at the library at 435-4336.
