Nathaniel Hunter Haring Funeral services for Nathaniel Hunter Haring, 21, of Wisner, will be held at Holly Grove Baptist Church on (today) Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Mickey Gallup and Rev. Neal Rayborn officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Grove Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Hunter was born on September 30, 1986 in Monroe, La., and he passed away Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro. He was a resident of Wisner, a farmer, and a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church. Hunter was a loving son, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Hunter was a graduate of Franklin Academy in 2005 where he enjoyed playing football and basketball. Survivors include his parents: Carl and Holly Haring of Wisner; sisters: Hannah and Jonathan Sharp, Kelly Haring, and Madison Haring all of Wisner; maternal grandparents: Mary Ferrington, and Carl Batey and wife Joan, all of Wisner; paternal grandparents: Mae Haring of Sicily Island, La., and W.C. "Pete" Haring of Wisner; and nephew, Isaac Sharp of Wisner. Pallbearers will be Ashley Haring, Brandon Haring, Justin Rials, Michael Lyles, Brady Nelson, Addison Sanders, Ed Mckee, Jr., and Tyson Payne. Estell Thomas Funeral services for Estell Thomas, 86, of Winnsboro will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the River of Life Church in Winnsboro. Burial will follow in Morning Star Cemetery in Fort Necessity under the direction of Richardson and Sims Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. Thomas died Monday, June 16, at Plantation Manor in Winnsboro following a brief illness. Wake service will be Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at New Vision Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Percy Thomas, Winnsboro; two daughters: Essie Brown and Mary Banks, both of Winnsboro; 11 sons: L.Z. Hoard, Clarence Cooper, Charlie Thomas, Percy Thomas Jr., Jimmie Thomas, James Thomas, Larry Thomas, Joseph Thomas, Donnie Thomas, Jerry Thomas and Frank Thomas, all of Winnsboro; and one brother, Jimmie Lee Jones, Winnsboro.
Earl C. Wilson Funeral services for Earl C. Wilson, 67, of Wisner were held Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Locust Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Amos Heckard officiating. Burial followed at Mathis Cemetery in Extension under the direction of Richardson Funeral Home, Winnsboro. Mr. Wilson died Sunday, June 8, 2008 at Mary Anna Nursing Home in Wisner. He was a farmer. Survivors include a son, Charles Hillman, Monroe; daughter, Darbie M. Jones, Monroe; sisters: Moe West Nelson, Chicago; Elizabeth Heckard and Beulah Plater, both of Wisner; brothers: Gene Plater, George Plater, Archie Plater, all of Houston, Texas; Odell Saulsberry, Harry Plater, both of Winnsboro; Larry Plater, Roosevelt Plater, both of Wisner; Tony Plater of Baton Rouge; Dennis Wilson, Monroe; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers were George Plater, Gilbert Edwards, Larry Plater, Johnny Mathis, Odell Saulsberry, Gene Plater, Harry Plater, Chad Plater, Atreal Plater, and William N. Heckard Jr.
Billy Hughes Eldridge Funeral services for Billy Hughes Eldridge of Warsaw Community, were held Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Warsaw Baptist Church with Rev. Cory Bruce officiating. Services were under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Eldridge was born July 12, 1942 in Winnsboro, and passed away in his sleep Tuesday morning, June 10, 2008 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents: Marvin Eldridge and Beatrice Prestridge; step dad Hebert Prestridge. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 30 years Jerrivon Eldridge. He is survived by his daughter: Dana Collins and husband Jeff and grandchildren: Hannah and Laura Collins of Crowville; brother: Elbert Eldridge and wife Jackie of Crosby, Texas; brother: Lawrence Eldridge and wife Gloria of Delhi; brother: Jimmy Eldridge and wife Martha of West Monroe; sister: Kathryn Hunter and husband John of Monroe; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. After spending many years as an equipment operator on road construction, Billy spent years working on a farm and in recent years greeted many a patron as an employee of Warsaw Country Store. After the death of the love of his life, his wife: Jerrivon, Billy spent many hours with his granddaughters. He loved to talk about the latest accomplishments of Hannah and Laura. Mr. Eldridge was somewhat of a prankster and will be remembered as someone who loved laughter. Pallbearers were Mike Emfinger, John Eldridge, Jay Eldridge, Barry Don Parker, Jimmy Dale Parker, and John Michael Hunter. Cedric Lee 'Sid' Brown Graveside services for Cedric Lee "Sid" Brown, 61, of West Monroe, formerly of Baskin, were held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun, Sunday, June 8, 2008 with Bro. Jason Beard, pastor and dear friend officiating. Mr. Brown was born April 18, 1947 in Winnsboro. He died Friday, June 6, 2008, at Glenwood Medical Center after a brief illness. He was a pipeline oiler and a dedicated Christian. He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Roy Brown; grandparents: Ed and Lela Brown, Jim and Mary Morris, all of Winnsboro. Survivors include his wife: Eileen Brown of West Monroe; children: Patty Frost and husband, Jimmy of Calhoun; Ken Prince Jr. and wife, Michelle of Crestview, Fla.; Roy Brown and Aretha Brown of Bastrop; grandchildren: Amanda Frost, LaTasha Givens and husband, Jason, Brandon Prine, and Ashley Prine; two great-grandchildren: Hanna and Nicholes Givens. He is also survived by his mother, Addie Marie Brown of Winnsboro; sisters: Sue Ellen McDonald and husband, Charlie of Baskin; Evelyn Marie Carroll of McGregor, Texas; nephew: Jeremy LaBorde and wife Tamara of McGregor, Texas; nieces: Donna Givens and husband Stacey of Mangham; Leigh Ann Martin and husband Tommy of Winnsboro; and a host of aunts, uncles cousins and friends.
Martha Hendrickson Funeral services for Martha Hendrickson, 69, of Gilbert, were held at Apostolic Faith Chapel In Gilbert on Monday, June 16, 2008 with Rev. Virgil Harris officiating. Interment followed at Oakley Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Martha Hendrickson was born April 21, 1939 in Gilbert, La. and passed away Friday, June 13, 2008 at Franklin Medical Center Winnsboro. She was a resident of Gilbert, a homemaker, and a member of the Apostolic Faith Chapel of Gilbert. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James E. McGloflin; father, Richard P. McLemore; mother, Ruth (Turner) McLemore; brother, Richard P. McLemore; sister, Arie Louise Stephens. Survivors include her husband, Stan Hendrickson of Chase; son, Jimmy E. McGloflin of Gilbert; daughter, Annie Ruth Atkins and husband Keith of Winnsboro; sisters: Amanda Seffens and husband Glen of Lake Jackson, Texas; Tommy Jean Castille and husband Jerry of Breaux Bridge, La.; Florence Magee of Baton Rouge, La.; Gail McMillon and husband John of Kentwood, La.; grandchildren: Chelsea E. and William A. Mamie Bacle Services for Mamie Bacle, age 82, of Crowville, were held Friday, June 13, 2008 in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro with Rev. Paul Stephens and Rev. Troy J. Dennard officiating. Interment followed in Hewitt Cemetery near Mangham, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. Bacle was a homemaker and member of Lone Pine Baptist Church. She was born Sept. 21, 1925 and went to be with the Lord on June 11, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents George Allen and Clyde Harper Barnes. Survivors include her husband: Charles Bacle of Crowville; daughter: Kittie Dennard and husband, Sammy of Crowville; son: David Bacle and wife, Lori of Jonesboro; two brothers: G. L. Allen and wife, Evelyn of Crowville; Sharon Allen and wife, LeMae of Utica, Miss.; sister: Mae Donachricha of Winnsboro; grandchildren: Todd DeMars and wife, Beth of Porter, Texas; Tammy Dennard of Houston, Texas; Troy J. Natalie Elizabeth Patten Funeral services for Natalie Elizabeth Patten, 24, of Manifest, La., were held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Saturday, June 14, 2008 with Bro. Dennis Relaford, Bro. Nathan Roberts and Bro. Dale Patten officiating. Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. Ms. Patten was born March 7, 1984 in Natchez, Miss., and passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at Manifest. She was a resident of Manifest and a member of the Fellowship Church of Jonesville. Survivors include her father, James "Timbo" Patten Sr. of Manifest; mother, Hope Nolan Patten, Manifest; paternal grandparents Dale and Evelyn Patten, Jonesville; maternal grandparents Bill and Carrie Nolan, Jonesville; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Pallbearers were Aaron Hutchins, Josh Roberts, Joe Tullos, Jeremy Patten, Ethan Skinner and Grant Coley. Honorary pallbearers were Nelson Skinner, Toby Skinner, Anthony Patten, Lee Stanley, Curtis Adams and Luke Hutchins.
Jessie L. Marzell Funeral services for Miss Jessie L. Marzell, 52, of Winnsboro will be held Sunday, June 22, 2008 at 2 p.m. at First Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Amos Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Cuba Cemetery under the direction of Richardson Funeral Home, Winnsboro. Miss Marzell died Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Franklin Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was a child care provider. Survivors include three daughters: Angie Marzell, DeAndre Gipson and Dequana Marzell, all of Winnsboro; sisters: Shirley A. Marzell, Pat Marzell and Tonya Poe, all of Winnsboro; Jeanetta Marzell and Susette Marzell, both of Monroe; one brother, Percy Marzell, Winnsboro; and 11 grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Keith Wallace, Carl Wallace, Frank Coleman, Kinsley Compton Cotton, Jamar Cotton and Donald Coleman. Visitation will be Saturday from 12-7 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
Regina Annie Atchison Regina Annie Atchison, 76, passed away in Plano, Texas on June 13, 2008. Mrs. Atchison graduated from Winnsboro High School. She was a beloved mother and grandmother who loved her family deeply. She raised her children by working nights in food service to provide her children with the stability they deserved and teaching them good values. She is survived by her children, William Haynes Atchison, James Lee Atchison and Cindy Lou Milner and four grandchildren. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed. |
