Gary Box
Gary Box, 58, a resident of Gilbert, employed by Ensco Agents Arya Offshore, died Monday, May 26, 2008 in Mumbai, India.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home, Winnsboro.

Rachel Orell Blackwell
Funeral services for Rachel Orell Blackwell, 83, of Runnelstown will be held today (Wednesday) at 11:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Runnelstown with the Revs. Henry Freeman and Chris Layton officiating.
Burial will follow in Runnelstown Cemetery.
Mrs. Blackwell died Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Hattiesburg Convalescent Center. She was a published poet, musician and songwriter and a member of First Baptist Church of Runnelstown. She was formerly of Winnsboro.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey William Blackwell; a daughter, Mary Francis Blackwell; a sister and five brothers.
Survivors include a son, Roger Blackwell, Runnelstown; daughter, Rebecca Bullock, Runnelstown; brother, Ray Richmond, Crowville; two sisters, Edna Kirby, Winnsboro, and Sally Everett, Riverbank, Calif.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Gerald Ray Frederick
Funeral services for Gerald Ray Frederick, 75, of Grayson, were held at Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at with Eddie Erwin and Dennis Clark officiating. Interment followed at Crowville Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
Mr. Frederick was born June 18, 1932 in Arkansas and passed away Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro. He was a resident of Grayson, a metal worker, a Mason, and a member of the Jigger Church of Christ. He served in the Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and one special Aunt, Elsie Griffin.
Survivors include his wife, Lola (Maxwell) Frederick of Grayson, La.; two sons: Stanley Frederick and Dennis Frederick; two daughters: Sheila Sashankar and Sharon Podhrasky; three step daughters: Debbie Durham, Kim Lietman, and Denise Welch; step son, Butch Johnson; brother, Merl Frederick; a host of sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, family and friends. He was also survived by 18 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Stacy Maxwell, Shannon Maxwell, Bob Temple, Byran Hart, Ricky Hart, Junior Munn, and Pete Williams.
Honorary pallbearers were Pete Welch, Wesley Wilcher, Leland Erwin, Asa Knox, W.H. Bruce, and Donnie Roy Guffery.

Beulah Brown
Graveside service for Beulah Brown, 88, of Winnsboro, LA was held at Ogden Cemetery on Monday, May 26, 2008 with Rev. John Albright officiating under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
Mrs. Brown was born June 16, 1919 in Mangham, and passed away Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Cornerstone Hospital in West Monroe. She was a resident of Winnsboro, a caregiver, and a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Winnsboro.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Brown; father, Estus Stephens; mother, Minnie Lee (Harris) Stephens; son, John E. Brown; grandson, Lance Tarver; brother-J. B. Stephens; sister, Evelyn Gripps.
Survivors include her daughter, Dicy Cockerham, Crowville; granddaughter, great-grandson; sister, Bessie Stephens of Winnsboro; host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Delbert Cockerham, Troy Hendry, Elvin Montgomery, Wayne Winters, Jerry Winters, and James Williamson.

Ruby D. Cowart
Funeral services for Ruby D. Cowart, 78, of Natchez, were held Thursday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Joel Haire officiating.
Burial followed at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cowart died Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at her residence.
Mrs. Cowart was born Aug. 6, 1929 in Wisner, the daughter of J.A. and Lorene McCreary Dean. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church for over 40 years. Mrs. Cowart was retired from the Natchez Public School System after 20 years of service. She also served as secretary for the Woodmen of World. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She thought the world of her great-grandchildren and loved spending time playing with them.
Mrs. Cowart is preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, Curtis Edward Cowart Sr.; her children: Carolyn Ann Allen and her husband, Greg Allen; Curtis Edward Cowart Jr. and his wife Deborah Kahl Cowart; Randy Cowart and his wife Lori Ann Cowart, all of Natchez; grandchildren: Elaine Cowart Burke and her husband Jamie; Adam Thornton and his wife Brandy; Leston Edward Cowart and his wife Misty; Curt Thornton, Kristin Thornton; great-grandchildren Spencer Burke, Ainsley Belle Burke, Abby Nicole Cowart, and Seth Cowart.
Pallbearers were Leston Cowart, Adam Thornton, Curt Thornton, Jamie Burke, Greg Allen, Mike Cook and Shelby Carlisle.

Jerry L. Crum
Funeral services for Jerry L. Crum, 64, of Ft. Necessity, were held Friday, May 23, 2008 in the chapel of Gill Funeral Home with Rev. Herbie Hitt officiating.
Burial followed in the Fort Necessity Church Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
Mr. Crum was born to the union of his parents James and Rose Carroll Crum on Oct. 7, 1943 in Winnsboro, and passed from this life on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at his residence. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Clinton Crum and Jimmy Ray Crum.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years Phyllis Crum of Fort Necessity; three sons: Terry Crum and wife Dawn, Shane Crum and wife Alicia, all of Fort Necessity, and Edge Crum and wife Kendra of West Monroe; two sisters: Cathy Gilley of Fort Necessity and Opal Provance of Lorman, Miss.; 11 grandchildren: Josh Crum, Kasey Crum, Adam Crum, Chelsea Harvey, Hailey Crum, Emily Crum, Dyllan Crum, Jessica Crum, Alicia Colteaux, Kourtney Colteaux, and Jonathan Colteaux; a special brother-in-law: Earl Atcheson of Fort Necessity.
Pallbearers were Josh Crum, Tim Crum, Joe Hatten, Ryan McClanahan, Kris Moore and Yeager Wooldridge.
Honorary pallbearers were Travis Barton, Donald Crum and Dexter Roberts.

Jeannette Kiper Yannie
Jeannette Kiper Yannie, born May 8, 1917 in Winnsboro, and passed away Monday, May 19, 2008 at the age of 91 years.
She worked at a civil service career from 1946 to 1954 for the U.S. Air Force and was in Japan from 1948 to 1950 where she worked for the Investigation Department of the Air Force. From 1954 through 1964 she worked for General Electric. Then she worked for Aero Space Corp and retired in 1980. Mrs. Yannie was the first woman chief of security at Vandenberg AFB, California.
Mrs. Yannie is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Elizabeth and Dr. Mario V. Hernandez, Mary Ann and Wade Land of Kenosha WI; grandchildren: George Hernandez, Joseph Hernandez, William Hernandez, Kevin Land, Lisa Lopez, Michele Long and Wade Land; and three great-grandchildren.
The memorial service was held Friday, May 28, 2008 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, with interment following at Holy Cross Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.

Billy Ray Woods
Funeral services for Billy Ray Woods, 70, of Columbia, were held Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. John Burrows officiating. Interment followed at Chase Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
Mr. Woods was born Sept. 7, 1937 in Winnsboro, and passed away Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Haven Nursing Home Columbia. He was a resident of Columbia, a roofing contractor, and a member of the Spring of Life Full Gospel Church. He served in the U. S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Woods; sister, Glenda Woods; mother of his children, Daphnie Allbritton Woods.
Survivors include his mother, Una (Shaw) Woods; two sons: Greg Woods and Kevin Woods, daughter, Tina Lenard, all of Monroe; two sisters: Patricia Fuller of Riverside, Calif.; and Barbara Barfield of Winnsboro; brother, Michael Woods, Winnsboro; three grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Rusty Barfield, Randy Barfield, Ronnie Barfield, Kerry Lenard, Brad Burtram, and Steve McMullen.
