Story Archives: Man held for juvenile pornography

Man held for juvenile pornography

Former local radio personality Danny Chapman was arrested May 20 on juvenile pornography charges.

Chapman, 58, of Winnsboro, is being held at the Franklin Correctional Center in lieu of $30,000 bond, according to Franklin Parish Chief Deputy Kevin Cobb.

He has been charged with three counts of possession of pornography involving juveniles. If convicted of all three counts, Chapman faces up to 30 years in prison.

Cobb said officers executed a search warrant on Chapman's home following a tip law enforcement officials received.

"We received a complaint about his internet activity," Cobb said.

Officers discovered numerous pornographic images depicting juveniles. Also, deputies confiscated Chapman's electronic devices, which Cobb said would be further examined.

"The investigation is ongoing until we get all that information back," Cobb said.

Cobb said there is no indication Chapman knew the juveniles depicted in the confiscated images.

Chapman was best known as "Danny C," a disk jockey on KMAR 95.9 in Winnsboro, until his employment at KMAR was terminated earlier this year.

Representatives of KMAR declined to comment concerning Chap-man's arrest.
