West Monroe High School held its commencement exercises on Thursday, May 15 in Fant Ewing Coliseum on the campus of the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Governor Bobby Jindal served as guest speaker for the program.

Erica Lauren Wollerson, daughter of Pete and Carla Wollerson, was one of 14 students recognized for maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout high school and sharing the valedictorian honors. She was among 395 seniors to graduate in the Class of 2008.

In addition to the Louisiana High School diploma, Wollerson received a diploma from the Board of Regents. She is also a senior member of the National Honor Society.

Wollerson plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Monroe to pursue a degree in nursing.

She is the granddaughter of Millard and Barbara Osborn, Mildred Wollerson and the late Samuel Wollerson.
