University of Louisiana at Monroe student Mary Ellen Graves was inducted into the Lambda Mu Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing on April 25, during a pinning ceremony. The Society invites junior and senior students enrolled in baccalaureate programs at accredited institutions of higher education who have completed at least 1/2 of the nursing curriculum, rank in the upper 35 percent of their graduating class and have achieved academic excellence.

Graves is a 2004 graduate of Franklin Academy. She plans to graduate ULM in December with her bachelor's degree in nursing.

Graves is the daughter of Shelby and Shirley Graves of Wisner and Mary Beth and Bob Burlet of Bedford, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Jackie Yarbrough of Bedford, Texas, formerly of Winnsboro.
