Memorial Day ceremony Monday A Memorial Day program sponsored by Diamond-Hawthorne American Legion Post 84 will be presented Monday, May 26 at 4 p.m. at Lowentritt Pavilion at Davis Park.
Mayor Jack Hammon will welcome those attending, followed by a prayer led by Don Blackmon. Kay Scott will lead the Pledge of Allegiance and the "National Anthem" will be sung by Tanya Cobb.
Special guest speaker will be Dr. Harry Boyd.
Cobb will then perform "God Bless America" and "My Country Tis of Thee."
The American flag will be lowered to half staff by Alton McKeithen and Joe Lord. Blackmon will read the list of Franklin Parish residents killed in action. The ceremony will end with Roger Beall performing "Taps."
All citizens are invited to attend this ceremony and pay their respects to those who have fought, and died, for the United States. |
