Tomlinson to sign new book at Every Ocassion Local author Shellie Rushing Tomlinson will be reading and signing copies of her new book, "Suck Your Stomach In and Put Some Color On: What Southern Mamas Tell Their Daughters That the Rest of Ya'll Should Know Too," on Thursday, May 22 at Every Occassion Gifts in Winnsboro from 3 to 5 p.m. Refreshments will also be served and door prizes will be given.
Tomlinson lives in Lake Providence with her husband, Phil. She is the author of "Lessons Learned on Bull Run Road," "'Twas the Night before the Very First Christmas" and "Southern Comfort with Shellie Rushing Tomlinson." She is owner and publisher of a website called All Things Southern and the host of a daily radio show and weekly TV segment by the same name. A list of the twenty-two radio stations that carry Tomlinson's southern features on her website can be found and you can see her each Tuesday morning at 6:30 a.m. on CBS affiliate KNOE's "Good Morning Ark-La-Miss."
In "Suck Your Stomach In," Tomlinson reveals the all-important lessons Southern Mamas teach their daughters. She carefully breaks down the teachings behind manners and social graces through her first-hand observations and dry wit. Chock full of southern wit and wisdom, woven with quotes from real Southern Mamas and sprinkled with other southern secrets, this book's a bona-fide celebration of all things south of the Mason-Dixon Line. |
